Considered the capital of Afro-Caribbean culture in Costa Rica, Limon possesses dialects based on the English that have survived in part because of the natural barriers between the Central Valley and the Caribbean Coast. Tortuguero is a network of navigable lakes and “canales” crossing the North Atlantic coast of Costa Rica from Southeast to Northwest. This park represents the most important nesting ground for the green sea turtle in the Western Caribbean (high season, July-September). Its natural “canales” serve as a waterway for exploration and transportation. Extremely rich in flora and fauna, you will be able to admire the humid tropical forest, birds, monkeys, crocodiles, and turtles, among many other animals. The Arenal Volcano is the main volcanic attraction of the country’s northern region. Dating back 2-3 million years, this peak has an almost perfect cone-shape. Tabacon Resort Complex is famous for its medicinal hot subterranean mineral–waters spreading out from the volcano, localized in different pools. Playa Flamingo is located in the tropical province of Guanacaste on Costa Rica's Northwest Pacific Coast. Flamingo Beach is famous for its white sands, water sports, national parks, and eco-tourism.
